Dec 20, 2016

Hello Frequent Flyers and welcome aboard our 85th Flight, The Man in the High Castle.

The Allies have lost the war and the Axis powers divvy up the remains of the world. What is left now but to assimilate and survive?

Perhaps maybe a mysterious film that shows the Allie powers celebrating D-Day? An underground celluloid with the power to change hearts and minds.

Sometimes survival isn't enough - sometimes you have to rebel.

Hello Frequent Flyers and welcome aboard our 84th Episode, Conviction.

When politics and the law clash - what is Hayley Atwell to do but lead the new Conviction Integrity Unit, to review cases and try to free the innocent. If you're thinking: shouldn't this already exist? or: isn't that the innocence project?
Yes. Yes.

Swanning about, leaving pig corpses in public parks, and fighting corruption with indifference, Conviction has everything but it's own name.

Hello Frequent Flyers and welcome aboard our 83rd Flight, Letterkenny.

Small town problems with big personalities all seem to clash when you're trying to stop fightin' and just sell your produce.

But some big city kid rolls into town with your ex-sweetie and it gets awful hard to tamp down the urge. After all whad'ya got to do if you can't be your farmin' fightin' self? There's church, there's raving in the church parking lot with the skids, or there's the hockey team that's a bit too big for their treasure trail.

Might as well square up buddy.

Hello Frequent Flyers and welcome aboard our 82nd Flight, The Crown.

I'm sure we've all been there. Future of the Monarchy hanging over our shoulders as our ailing father tries to bestow his wisdom before his inevitable demise.
So relatable.
Or is it perhaps - the humanity behind the Monarchy - the real emotion and fears that are provoked in the everyday and the helming of an empire

Hello Frequent Flyers and welcome aboard our 81st flight, Cosmos.

Step aboard the ship of the imagination with Neil Degrasse Tyson  as it takes you on an around the universe tour of the amazing and awe inspiring sights that the world has to offer. Meet early philosophers, astronomers, and scientists as they ponder the galaxies, and learn what it means to be both very very small, and yet so important.

It's a second to midnight on the cosmic calendar - who knows what's in store?

Nov 15, 2016

Hello Frequent Flyers and welcome aboard our 80th Flight, The Good Place.

We are all taken to wondering at times, what happens beyond the fine veil of death. To whence does the soul venture if a soul must venture at all?

What if I were to tell you - and you must keep this hush as one does not peer beyond the veil easily, you know....but what if I were to say: Suburbia.

Froyo on every corner. Golden daylight and clear skies. and Suburbia.

You may think this is The Bad Place, but trust me. That's just non-stop screaming. And what happens if you should get sent to the wrong one? If you should belong in the Bad Place after all? Is it too late to change your ways?

Nov 8, 2016

Hello Frequent Flyers and welcome aboard our 79th Flight, Pitch.

One in the hand may be worth two in the bush but a girl on the field is worth changing everything just for the chance. When you got a screwball that could knock out a whole team, whats to keep you from the locker room of the greats? From inspiring millions of people just like you?

What's to stop the love of the game?

Dicks with surfer hair, maybe - crippling self-doubt certainly. But when you walk out on that field - step onto that mound and wind up, we all know it's more than just the pitch we're here to see - it's the Pitcher.

Nov 1, 2016

Howdy Frequent Flyers and welcome aboard our 78th flight, Westworld.

Come on down to the little home on the Prairies - where rich billionaires can do whatever they want to the mindless automatons that run the park. Shoot, steal, sleep with, scalp. Who cares? They forget that anything happened the next day, right?

For the Hosts, these visitors bring excitement and opportunity - but change is coming. A chance to wake up from the dream and act - after all, these violent delights have violent ends.

Oct 25, 2016

Hello Frequent Flyers and Welcome to our 77th flight, Scream.

You hear footsteps in the garden, a skittering on your roof, breathing in your hall.

Bolt the doors, Flyers, lock them fast. But be certain you are alone in there. Be certain you have some method of protection. Do not heed the silence to venture forth. They're waiting in the dark...after all...the call was coming from INSIDE THE HOUSE.

Oct 18, 2016

Hello Frequent Flyers and welcome to our 76th flight, Hannibal.

There's a hunger - a ravening hunger in the pit of you. And you can see the hunger, see its yawning chasm, its desperate gasps for sustenance. What can you do, but eat?

So what if the show that inspired such yearning features the meat as human flesh? It looks good, ok, don't judge me.

But beware lest Will Graham and his true empathy see past the facade of a mild mannered ordinariness and he peers into the heart of you. The very dark depth of you.

Beware lest he know you and reveal you.

Stick perhaps, to Kraft Dinner.

Oct 11, 2016

Hello Frequent Flyers and welcome aboard our 75th Flight, Twin Peaks.

When the murder of the Perfect Daughter shakes a small town, what's left to be done but track down the sicko that did the deed. But this small town has one thing in common - secrets. And also the same meeting place for secret rendezvous. Literally - find somewhere else to meet. Also is anybody NOT sleeping with somebody else?

And if the Perfect Daughter turns out to have had secrets of her own, what will we find out when we ask: Who Killed Laura Palmer?

Oct 4, 2016

Hello Frequent Flyers and welcome aboard our 74th episode, The Living and the Dead.

The Race to modernity has begun, but on this farm the old ways still take hold. And sometimes they take hold in the worst ways - a sinners soul corrupting a once adventurous girl - a salt of the earth farmhand compelled to lay down in the most dangerous of places, and the voices. The echoing voices of the past, and maybe the future.

Hello Frequent Flyers and welcome aboard our 73rd episode, Versailles.

Louis' been having those prophetic dreams. The kind where he bangs the embodiment of the glory France in a mirrored hall. You know, architecture dreams. But he's got opposition and while his royal entourage grow increasingly bored at the lack of society out in the woods at a decrepit hunting lodge, Louis wants to bring Paris to Versaille.

If only it wasn't so hard, and there were less assassins, and war, and less baby daddy birth-drama.

Sep 20, 2016

Hello everyone and welcome aboard our 72nd Episode, Jeeves and Wooster.

Sometimes even the most respectable of gentlemen need fishing out of the soup, as it were. They may have gotten into a spot of trouble with the law, snatching a police officer’s helmet perhaps. Or they may attract fiancées like that flies and honey nonsense. Or worst of all, they may be horridly hung over and need a restorative of the highest sort. Enter Jeeves, the butler that buttles with the best of them. Shimmering into rooms like a mirage, and the cleverest sort you’ve ever seen. Throw the two together and you have hijinks aplenty

Sep 13, 2016

Hello Frequent Flyers and welcome aboard our 71st flight, Stargate Atlantis.

What's a Scientist to do when faced with the possibility of exploration of strange new worlds? Or a Pilot, with a heroes history and a disregard for rules who somehow is compatible with ancient technology. Or worse? A...who else was there? Some military types. They just do military things - shouting, guns, dying honourably to Marilyn Manson wannabes. Classic.

Dial up FS and step through the Stargate to a good time - we promise Mid-2000's Canadian CGI for all!

Disco, drugs, and dreams - you can find them all in the Bronx in 1977. Buildings always burning, but so too does the soul of one young Wordsmith, destined to meet Grandmaster Flash.

Art, politics, and the war against an inescapable urban experience, step back in time to the birth of modern music.

Sometimes you wanna get out, sometimes you wanna get in, but I promise you, you'll wanna Get Down.

Aug 30, 2016

Hello Frequent Flyers and Welcome Aboard our 69th Episode, Stranger Things.

Come with us back to a time before the internet - when Dungeons & Dragons ruled from the basements, phones had cords, and missing children taken to a dark otherworld happened so infrequently as to be rare.

Can four kids, three teenagers, two adults and one strangely talented escaped experiment solve the mystery of small town Suburbia, before it destroys them all?

Hello Frequent Flyers, and welcome aboard our summertime service. With your Flight Crew away on top secret missions, we have decided to cultivate a selection of picks for you when the heat of the day overwhelms your poor burnt skin, and you decide to duck inside.  Sit down, get sorted with a nice cold drink and stay tuned!

Our resident Stowaway gets gritty with Gotham - the film noir superhero sendup that peeks at the backstory of Batman's villains and heroes. She then charges over to the Nintendo DS with her very own Pocket Jockey before jumping on the Back of the Turtle with Thomas King.

Stowaway then takes a load off with some Happy Little Trees with our favourite painter, Bob Ross. A happy little time is had by all.

Fearless Flyer dives right in with Flight School Recommend Favourite - that $10 founding father without a father, Hamilton! Alongside some Shakespearean shenanigans, and Lumberjane kick-assery, she celebrates Uncharted 4 by firmly suggesting a trip to your local abandoned temple in the middle of the jungle to find El Dorado.

Or just pick up the first Uncharted. You're worth it.

This week Justin gives a convincing sermon about Preacher and PaperGirls - two fantastical picks to start off your summer with. Then he travels East of West in this alternate history comic that put the apocalypse and cowboys together in a rollicking race to the end of days.

He stops for a small gig with the Greek Gods in The Wicked and Divine, and gives as good as he gets when the prophecy: He will be loved, he will be hated. In two years he will be dead - threatens to end his tenure on our show. Fight back, SEMM!

Vector gives Gilmore Girls a go in anticipation of its return, and hitting up the nostalgia of Teen Wolf season one. Alongside a gambit of other recommendations, you can be assured Vector's on the mark.

In our first part of the WOOR series, The Flying Dutchman tackles Cleverman. Why should you watch it, and why should you care about Australia? ( You should care so much.)
Will it fire you up or cool you down this summer? The Dutchman certainly knows which.

Jul 12, 2016

Hello Frequent Flyers and welcome aboard our 68th Episode, Eureka.

We all know that you're geniuses. Certifiable smart-folk. So why not move on down to the epicentre of intelligence, small-town Eureka.

Where science and math are encouraged and the law is very relaxed about explosions.

Where the Infinite Universe theory is not only accepted but played with by children.

Or, if you're not a genius, you could just be a U.S Marshall, trying to shepherd your wayward ward home, with an slightly above average IQ but a keen way of puttin' things together.

OR maybe just...don't move there? Seems to be some sort of world-annihilation device every week so... maybe just keep driving.

Jul 6, 2016

Hello Frequent Flyers and welcome aboard our 67th Episode, Filthy Preppy Teen$.

Folks, I'm sure you know the feeling of being cast away on a desert island, with only your boomerang to survive. Meegan and Chaud certainly do - but that's all behind them. They just want to return to their life atop the high school social ladder. Too bad the rungs have been greased, and they've been replaced by Ikea children.

So relatable.

So High School.

There's teen leprechauns, girls in comas, and so many transition screens.

Jun 28, 2016

Hello Frequent Flyers and welcome aboard our 66th Episode, Penny Dreadful.

When there's a creaking on the steps and a sudden quiet outside, when your breath fills the cold air with mist and your heart trembles in your chest, to whom do you turn?

Perhaps to a woman with a mysterious gift and penchant for fortune telling? Or maybe a strange anatomist whose obsession with life and death transgress the bounds of science?
Or an adventurer known for exploring the darkest parts of the world, who understands what if feels to be both hunter and prey?
Even a Wild West actor, whose sharpshooting masks a troubled past.

And what if you decide to step out from your room, and venture into the unknown - that Demi-Monde, can you say you loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night?

There's no stars down here, no light. Just spiders, Josh Hartnett, and Death.
